I have no experience with a Veer belt. I am curious as to how durable the riveted join lasts in normal commuting use. I wouldn't underestimate the cost of the conversion. Just eyeballing it makes me think that it would run you 700 bucks at least for the hub, shifters, and front ring, plus you have to rebuild the wheel.
